Artist

Heriberto Juárez (1932–2008) was a celebrated Mexican artist best known for his expressive bronze and terracotta sculptures. Born in Mexico City, Juárez trained initially in drawing and painting but soon found his true calling in sculpture, where he developed a distinctive style characterized by fluid, organic forms and an emphasis on the human figure.

Juárez’s work often focused on the female form, animals, and mythological subjects, blending realism with a subtle abstraction that emphasized movement and sensuality. Over the course of his career, he exhibited widely in Mexico and internationally, earning critical acclaim for his mastery of form, texture, and proportion. His sculptures are included in major public and private collections, and his influence endures in the realm of 20th-century Mexican sculpture, where he is remembered as a major innovator who brought warmth, elegance, and vitality to his medium.
