Allen George Newman (1875–1940) was an American sculptor known for his monumental public works and finely crafted figurative sculptures. He studied under John Quincy Adams Ward from 1897 to 1901, developing a mastery of realistic form and expressive detail that would define his career. Newman’s works often commemorate historical figures and events, combining technical skill with a sense of narrative and civic pride.

Among his most notable commissions are the Triumph of Peace in Piedmont Park, Atlanta, Georgia; the statue of General Sheridan in Scranton, Pennsylvania; and the Henry Hudson monument overlooking Spuyten Duyvil, New York. He also created the allegorical figures Day and Night for the Harriman National Bank Building in New York, demonstrating his ability to integrate sculpture with architectural settings. Newman’s contributions helped shape the landscape of American public art in the early 20th century.
