Emile-René Ménard

French, 1862 - 1930

Overview

Emile-Rene Menard was loosely associated with a diverse group of artists called La Bande Noire, headed by Charles Cottet and Lucien Simon. These artists, unlike the Impressionists, who were working during the same time, used a more subdued palette and depicted subject often approached by the earlier Barbizon painters.
