Overview
Giorgio Cavallon was born in Sorio, near Vicenza, Italy, in 1904 immigrating to the United States in 1920. He enrolled at the National Academy of Design from 1926 until 1930 and during the summer of 1927, traveled to Provincetown, MA, to study with the American painter and renowned teacher, Charles W. Hawthorne, who founded the Cape Cod School of Art in 1899. From 1934 through 1936, during the evenings, Cavallon studied at the Hans Hofmann School of Fine Arts.
