Overview

Alexandre Urbain was a pupil of Luc-Olivier Merson at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, exhibited at the Independents from 1903. He became a member of the Salon d'Automne, the Society of Painters and Engravers and President of the Society of Independent Artists, active from 1940 to 1952 and was the chairman of the Salon des Indépendants from 1920.
