artist
Vedder was known for his mysterious, romantic, scenes, both real and mythological. English and Irish mysticism had a great deal of influence upon the artist, himself deriving inspiration from the Pre-Raphaelities in both aesthetic and theory. Given his visionary eye, Vedder was contracted by Tiffany to design glassware, mosaics, and statuettes. One of his greatest achievements was decorating the hallway of the Reading Room of the Washington Library of Congress.
